Paediatrician and GP appointments

You can definitely use Kidswell Health alongside your existing NHS GP. With your consent, we will notify your GP after each appointment or service, outlining any diagnosis, test results or treatment so that they’re always up-to-date. You can also view your letters and results in our patient app at any time.

If your child is prescribed medication, we offer two convenient options:

1. Local pharmacy collection – We can send the prescription directly to your chosen local pharmacy, where you can collect the medication at your convenience.

2. Home delivery via e-prescription – We also offer an e-prescription service that delivers medication directly to your home. In some London areas, delivery can arrive within 2 hours, although we can’t guarantee this timeframe for all locations.

However, as a private provider, we do not have access to NHS systems and therefore cannot guarantee that your NHS GP will see our note or update their system accordingly. We do provide access to all your notes, test results and letters in our patient app which you can share with your GP or other healthcare professionals if needed.

Yes, we offer a range of child vaccinations. Please view our vaccinations page for more information on what we offer and contact us to book an appointment.

We aim to offer appointments as soon as possible, often within 24-48 hours, and at a time that’s convenient for you. Same-day appointments may be available, subject to availability. Check our website booking platform or speak to reception to find out the earliest possible slot – we’ll always do our best to meet your needs.

If your child needs further care, we can refer you to one of our trusted partners or arrange onward referrals as needed. We work with a number of expert paediatric sub-specialists as well as trusted diagnostics and procedure partners. Please speak to your doctor or our reception team to find out more.

We’ll do our best to offer the doctor of your choice whenever possible. However, all our doctors and healthcare professionals work different shifts throughout the week and may not always be available. Our medical team meets regularly to discuss ongoing cases, and all notes are logged in a central system, meaning whoever you see we’ll ensure there is as much continuity as possible.

No referral is needed. Simply contact us to schedule an appointment. If you have been referred by a GP, insurer or other healthcare provider, please let our team know when making the booking.

We see children from birth right up until the age of 18. Once your child turns 18 we are happy to signpost you towards suitable care and make the transition as smooth as possible.

In the majority of cases, a consultation with one of our clinicians is required before booking a blood test to ensure we are fully aware of your child’s needs and can advise you on the best course of action. If you have been referred by an external GP or healthcare professional for a blood test, please let us know when making the booking as a further consultation may not be required.

All our doctors are trained and experienced in paediatrics and working with children. Whilst it is common in the UK to see a GP as your first point of call, some families prefer to see a paediatrician, and we encourage families to do what feels right for them. Typically paediatric GPs will see acute coughs and colds, rashes, trauma, plus referrals for insurance whereas paediatricians will see recurring or chronic conditions, concerns with babies under 6 months and specialisms such as allergy or asthma. Majority of insurers will not cover GP appointments however it is always best to check your policy. We do offer video and phone appointments for certain services. If you would like a video appointment, please specify when making a booking or speaking to our reception team who will be able to advise what’s possible.
