Dr Titian Tam is a Clinical Psychologist who works with children, young people and families experiencing a range of emotional, developmental and life challenges. He aims to create a warm and supportive space where young people can feel heard, understood and comfortable being themselves. He has particular interests in neurodivergence, anxiety, identity and belonging, and supporting young people and their families through periods of change and transition.

Titian has worked across two NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and currently works in an NHS paediatric service providing specialist autism and ADHD assessments. This has given him extensive experience in understanding how neurodivergence can shape a young person’s experience of themselves, their relationships, school and everyday life.

In therapy, Titian takes a curious, collaborative and reflective approach. He believes every child and family is unique, and that their experiences are shaped by their relationships, culture, identity and life stories. He brings a natural curiosity and sense of playfulness to his work, and enjoys getting to know each young person’s interests, passions and way of seeing the world. His approach is integrative and draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Moment Desensitisation  and reprocessing (EMDR), and Systemic and Psychodynamic approaches, adapting therapy to each young person’s and their families’ needs and circumstances.

Born and raised in Hong Kong and now based in the UK, Titian has a particular interest in how culture, language and different social contexts can shape identity, belonging and emotional wellbeing. He is mindful of the experience of children and families navigating different cultures, expectations and systems, and brings this understanding into his work where relevant. Titian offers therapy in both English and Cantonese.
